Ofelia Nickel Melley, MD

Dr. Ofelia N. Melley is the founder of The Laser Institute of Pinehurst. She entered the field of Laser and Cosmetic Skin Care in 2006 after practicing Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine for 20 years. This career path laid a strong foundation for her extensive experience in skin care and surgery.

In 1989 she moved to North Carolina where she practiced Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine in both Moore County and Cumberland County. She is board certified in both Family and Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Melley is a Fellow of the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery and is proficient in the use of lasers. She is recognized by both Cynosure and Candela Corporations as a physician trained and experienced in the use of lasers and IPL. She has also been extensively trained in the field of Dermal Injectables performing facial contouring with dermal fillers and Botox.

As a Fellow of The American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery, a Fellow of The American Academy of Family Physicians and a member of The North Carolina Medical Society she stays active and informed in the field of Cosmetic Surgery. She has stood on the Foundation Board of The North Carolina Academy of Family Physicians and has served 2 terms as a Board member for the North Carolina Academy of Family Physicians.
